What Causes Mold And What To Do About It

Mold will grow if the humidor is kept too moist. You must always be careful of how much water (distilled of course) you are adding to the humidification device. Mold does not grow quickly, but luckily there are 2 signs that will indicate that you are heading towards a having a mold problem.

The first sign is having damp cigars. The second sign is a bad, musty odour when you open the humidor. If you notice either of these symptoms, cut back immediately on the amount of water you are adding to the hygrometer. If you spot mold on a cigar remove it immediately from the humidor, as it will spread to the other cigars.
